Ali or a senior strategist answers, usually the next business day.

If it fits, you get a clear proposal. If not, honest advice.
Three ways to reach us
Pick whichever suits you; all three reach the same person.
- Call (604) 632-4959. Good when you want to talk the situation through straight away. If we miss you, we call back.
- Text (604) 632-4959. Often the easiest start for busy owners. A couple of lines about your company and your question is plenty.
- Email Ali@Sedighi.ca. Best if you'd like to set out the background in more detail or copy a colleague or board chair.
After the first exchange, meetings can be online by video call or in person, whichever works better for you. Offsites and board sessions are often held in person, and we travel to you for them.
What to include in your first message
The more context you give, the more useful the first conversation will be. You don't need all of this; even two or three items help.
- Your company and industry, and roughly how many people work there.
- Approximate annual revenue, as a range if you prefer.
- Who leads the business: the owner alone, a leadership team, a board or advisory board.
- What already exists: a written plan, a budget, a scorecard, regular reviews, or none of these.
- What prompted you to get in touch: growth, succession, a board request, a difficult year, or a plan that didn't stick.
- Your timing, for example a fiscal year start or a board meeting date.
A template you can copy for a text or email:
Hi Ali, I lead [Company name], a [industry] business in [City] with about [number] staff. We [have / don't have] a written plan. We'd like help with [three-year plan / budget / offsite / quarterly reviews] before [date]. Best time to reach me: [time].
Please don't send confidential financial statements or board papers before we have spoken. We'll ask for what is useful once there is an engagement in place.
What happens next
The process after your first message is short and predictable.
- We reply, usually within one business day, to arrange a time for the free 30-minute consultation by phone, video call or in person.
- We talk. We ask about the company, the leadership team and what you want the plan to do, and we tell you honestly whether and how we can help. Sometimes the answer is a smaller first step, such as a scorecard and one quarterly review.
- You receive a written proposal with the scope, deliverables, fee, timeline and terms. Nothing starts until you agree to it.
If we are not the right fit, for example if you need a lender's business plan rather than an internal strategy, we'll say so and suggest where to look.
Before you get in touch
A little reading can make the first call more productive. Three pages are worth a look.
- Our services overview explains the six parts of the planning cycle and the usual starting combinations.
- The pricing page sets out our fee formats and how sales tax works for your province.
- The guide to writing a three-year plan shows the document structure we use.
Hours, replies and privacy
Planning inquiries are answered during office hours, Mon–Fri 9–6 Pacific. We usually reply within one business day; a message sent on a Saturday or a statutory holiday is picked up on the next working day.
We use your contact details only to respond to you and to carry out any work you ask for. We don't add you to marketing lists, and we only send email to people who have contacted us first. StrategyPlanning.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and every inquiry is handled by Ali Sedighi, MBA. You can read more about how we work on the about page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the quickest way to reach you?
A call or text to (604) 632-4959. Texting is welcome, and a two-line message is enough for us to reply with a time to talk.
Is the first conversation free?
Yes. The initial 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation. It can be by phone, video call or in person.
Do we need to send financial statements first?
No. Don't send confidential documents before we have spoken. For the first conversation, approximate figures are fine, and we will tell you what is useful later.
Can our board chair contact you directly?
Yes. Board chairs and directors often make the first approach, and we are glad to speak with them before or alongside the owner.
